Barbershop. The first film in the series, this one and its sequel, Barbershop 2: Back in Business, are the only ones actually shot in Chicago. Both are filled with great South Side locations and neighborhoods, though much of what you will see in the film is the barbershop set.

On March 25, 2015, New Line Cinema signed on with MGM to release the film, while MGM would handle the production. Principal photography began in Atlanta on May 11, 2015.

Barber Shops can differ from one to the next. One may offer shampoo services while another may not. Some provide additional services, such as shaving, beard and mustache grooming, hairpiece fittings, facials, hair coloring, highlights, and other related services such as curling hair.
